Here are some animations I've made over the past few years to make sure I keep evolving myself. Most animations I make are short so I can experiment with many different styles and techniques in a short period of time. This helps me figure out what works for me and how I'm able to use this in future works.
I made this animation in collaboration with Danique Eijkelenboom. It tells the story about how the german emporer Wilhelm II arived art the border of the Netherlands. We decided to visualise the border and different sides by inverting the colours and textures.
This animation is inspired by the book 'de grote 8' by Vrouwkje Tuinman. The book tells a story about a girl suffered abuse by her dad in her early ages. It shows how the abuse has left it's marks on her, even when she's older and her dad already passed away. I noticed there was a correlation between the way coffee was mentioned in the story and the abuse. So I used coffee as a methaphor for the abuse and lingering issues it brought with it.
